...a lot has changed on dA in a year's time. I almost forgot how to get to add a new journal for this! The new design is pretty nice. I think there could still be a few things from the old design I liked better implemented, but it works. You can't make everyone happy.

I am not around here much, but from time to time I'll come to check the few people I follow out to see what new stuff they have recently posted. I don't do much digital art these days besides some ads I make for my job (not much to them, but a few are pretty neat). Most of my stuff involves web design, too.

I've been playing with WordPress a little on my new personal site (lucaskunert.com) and it seems pretty cool. I haven't updated that site much to include all of my digital art work (only web design so far), but I plan on trying to finish it and keep adding stuff to it as well.

Currently, I still live in Arkansas with my wife of over 2 years and my daughter who just turned 1. Time is flying by. Things are rough these days as far as financing. We just moved into a house (renting, didn't buy one yet) so things are tight for money. I still help run a small, local hosting company in my spare time apart from my regular 8-5 job, but we are needing some more business to keep it afloat.

Which brings me to my next point (and question for anyone who has any experience) -- what does is take to get started to doing some freelance work? I know there are websites that post jobs or something you can "bid" on or whatever. I want do try and go about selling more sites and even designs for those sites for an affordable, but profitable cost to me. What do you do? How do you get started? I'd kind of like to maybe someday take over the company if I can take advantage of it right now to grow it so it's no longer bleeding money like it is right now.
